Durness Stone Craft specialise in hand carved, quality stone work. In an age of mass production, we choose to use the tried and tested traditional methods of stone carving, The hammer and chisel.
Each and every peice of work is unique. Predominately commission based we can carve anything in stone. Working hand in hand with the customer, our aim is to produce timeless quality work.
From traditional carving to contemporary sculpture our work covers a diverse range, and is as varied as our customers imagination and requirements.From door numbers and house names to garden ornamentation and gargoyles, all commissions are welcome. Celtic work a speciality.
For retail therapy on the far North coast of Scotland, visit our shop, 58° North: Gallery & Gifts. Situated in the centre of Durness, next to the camp site, beach, pub and visitor centre. We are in the envious position of being supplied by some of the best artists, craftsmen and women in the North. We stock a wide range of locally produced art, crafts and giftware. In addition to our own stonework we also stock a variety of quality stone work from around the world. We are currently stocking a variety of contempory lighting products from oil lamp projectors to translucent stone spheres.
